The xvid codec is delivered as XBLA from xbox live.  A box that has been jtagged shouldn't be connected to live (ovbiously) so if you don't already have the xvid codec, here's how to get it:

I intend to use this when setting up somewhere remotely and using a wireless ethernet hub.  Since I normally turn DHCP off on the hubs (so I can use them on my home network which has DHCP on the main server), it poses a problem when setting up somewhere that doesn't relay DHCP through the hub.  I've done some testing with it and it seems OK but I'll need to spend some additional time with it yet.
